How to Store Vanilla

The best way to store vanilla is to wrap it up in wax paper or placed in a wax paper bag then place it into an airtight container like a zip lock bag or Tupperware, removing any excess air.

Store the container in your cupboard with all of your other spices. Vanilla beans do well when stored between 60–85 °F — never keep your vanilla in the refrigerator or freezer.

Open the container every six to eight weeks and let the beans air out for 10 to 15 minutes. Re-wrap and return to their original container.
